Tim Armstrong

Tim Armstrong is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the punk rock band Rancid. Born on November 25, 1965, in Albany, California, he has been a significant figure in the punk and ska music scenes since the 1990s. Rancid's self-titled album, released in 1993, and the critically acclaimed "…And Out Come the Wolves" (1995) helped propel the band to mainstream success, merging punk with ska influences and revitalizing the genre. Armstrong is also known for his work with the band Operation Ivy, which was pivotal in the development of ska punk, and has collaborated with various artists, including the Transplants, a side project blending punk rock and hip-hop.
